Dr. Rolando Gaspar Jr., widely known as Doc Jhay, is a distinguished Filipino climate justice advocate, humanitarian, and development professional with over a decade of transformative leadership in youth development, public administration, media, and organizational strategy. His career spans key leadership roles in government, international NGOs, academia, and private corporations. Notable positions including News Correspondent in National Newspaper, City Youth Development Officer in the Philippines, Vice President of Dholakia Foundation, and Chief Media Officer for Hari Krishna Exports in India, where he lived for about 2 years.
Currently, Dr. Jhay serves as Chief Consultant for global businesses, specializing in business transformation focusing on people, process, and product. He also coaches CEOs and leaders on personal effectiveness and leadership, empowering them to become the best versions of themselves. As a business consultant, journalist, financial advisor, and educator, Dr. Jhay integrates his diverse expertise to inspire impactful individual and organizational transformation.
Dr. Jhay is celebrated for his groundbreaking work in youth empowerment, notably as the lead organizer of the 2022 Regional Conference of Youth – Asia and the Pacific (RCOY-APAC), which brought together over 600 climate leaders and delivered outputs presented at the 17th UN Conference of Youth in Egypt and the 2023 United Nations Water Conference in New York. His initiatives have earned national recognition, including award-winning youth programs in Ormoc City and multiple international representations at UN climate events, such as Dushanbe Water Process in Tajikistan, COP26 in the UK, and COP27 in Egypt.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Jhay holds a PhD in Public Administration and a post-doctorate in Climate Risk Planning for Sustainable Development from the University of the Philippines, graduating with High Distinction. His educational background also includes degrees in IT, Event Management, and Life Coaching.
When not working, he is either traveling and meeting people, excited to connect with like-minded individuals, sharing insights and learning from others to help others. Over the past 7 years, he has been on a journey of exploration and self-reinvention, and recently transitioned from a career executive to an entrepreneur.
His passion for leadership, innovation, and sustainability drives his advocacy for climate justice and youth development, positioning him as a catalyst for progress in communities and organizations worldwide.
